Are you saying that DSL in Austrailia is only 256 k? Is that kB/s or kb/s,
as in B for bytes and b for bits.
I had DSL a few years ago and I think that it was around 1 Mb/s. I have
cable now and it is easily 5 Mb/s. These days the ISPs are being pretty
close to the vest on actual speed. They pitch their service as really fast
and cheap. But I think most of these guys are pitcing dial up with some kind
of speedup software.
