I was only running Avast. I uninstalled it and scanned online with
Norton. It found two items which I deleted. One was a dialer, but I
checked and its not re-installed. I then re-installed Avast. I have
not had a problem with Avast in the past. I had used Adaware, but had
a real problem running the latest one after they changed the program.
So I took it out and I downloaded Windows defender to see if it is
any good. It never seems to pick anything up. I then tried A-1
Squared. I still have the Windows Defender. It scans daily but never
seems to find anything. Any suggestions for a better antispyware
program is welcome. Or even antivirus program for that matter. I just
cannot seem to find what is causing these email issues. Eudora doesnt
show anything as going out except what I personally send. Thats why
I wondered if it was a problem with Avast. Or some infection that I
cannot discover.

running more than one AntiVirus Program, you will have to Uninstall

Thanks I think I will try it. I finally found the file. Its called
Not-A-Virus.Exploit.HTML.Mht
Its not easy to remove. I have tried various methods and this time I
hope it is gone. Its a new one on me. I also had Backdoor Theef in
there. It took me several different scanners on trial to find them.
And yes I deleted the others before trying anything else. AVG is what
found them. I resorted to using BFU and hope that finally got it.
Guess I will see. What a pain. My young adult boys were on my
computer the past few weeks. They always say they "never" download
anything, hmmm. Sure

They might not download things but some sites do that as you visit them, so
it is the random web roaming that the boys do that can get your computer
into trouble.
