Our client is a leading railroad company that operates
approximately 21,200 route miles in 22 eastern states, the
District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada, serves all major
eastern ports and connects with rail partners in the West
and Canada, linking customers to markets around the world.
They also provide comprehensive logistics services and
offers the most extensive intermodal network in the East.
Description:
Our client is seeking a contract Java developer, for an
initial 6 month contract with the ability to extend for any
additional 6 months, with a broad range of experience that
empowers the candidates to contribute to a variety of
project life cycle deliverables. Candidates must be team
players with a minimum of 3 years IT experience. Candidates
must have direct experience using the following
technologies: Java (J2SE, J2EE), Web Services (SOAP),
JSP/servlets, Applets, HTML, XML, MVC, Perl, UNIX, shell
scripting.
Experience Required:
1) Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering
2) Minimum 3 years Software Development Methodology
3) Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
4) Experience in building web-based programming applications
with relational databases in a multi-tier environment
5) Very strong analytical abilities and problem solving
skills
6) Effective Communicator
Skills Required:
1) Java development – 3 years
2) J2EE development – 1 year
3) UML modeling and design – 1 year
4) Relational databases, strong in SQL - 2 years
5) Development in Unix environment – 1 year
6) Software Configuration (PVCS, ANT, etc.) – 2 years
7) Knowledge of web-based, user interface technologies using
HTML, JavaScript, CSS, HTTP, and HTTPS – 1 year
Skills Preferred:
1) Struts
2) DB2/UDB
3) BEA Weblogic 8.x
4) Apache Tomcat 5.x
5) Hibernate
6) Web Services (SOAP)
7) GUI (AWT/Swing) development
Primary responsibilities will include:
1) Design and implement the web-based transportation
planning system.
2) Provide production support and enhancements for the
existing web applications.
