I setup amavis-new on Debian Etch without much problem at
all. Bravo!
I'm using it mainly for STMP-time spam blocking with
spamassassin/razor. The
Debian packagers have done a great job, and it worked nearly
out of the box.
The one thing I would like to request is that the SMTP
rejection message be
customizable. This is done manually in step 6 of the amavis
part of this
howto:

This guide is fairly old, but I checked the amavisd-new code
and the SMTP
reject message appears to still be hard-wired. I changed
the code manually
and it seems to work (I'm no Perl expert).
It would be nice if this were customizable in the
configuration.
