Hi there,

I'm running amavisd-new 2.5.2 with SpamAssassin 3.2.3. I
have a
problem where the bayes_seen file grows uncontrollably.
There is a bug
report about this here:

http://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=
2975

And it says it was "fixed" in SA 3.1, though it
doesn't say how it was
fixed. Surely this must be a problem for other users, as
disk space is
not infinite. Is there a way to disable the use of this
file?

It is a question for a SpamAssassin ML, but I can give a
quick answer.

Did you read the bug 2975? It says that it is acceptable to
just throw away the 'seen' database (either SQL or
file-based)
every now and then (perhaps monthly). It would allow the
same message to be re-learned again when its Message-ID is
no longer in a database. This is quite alright if it does
not occur too often.

The 'fix' was that if the bayes_seen file does not exist
(e.g. was manually deleted), then SpamAssassin will create
a new file-based empty 'seen' database without complaining.
