Thread: Order of calling AV and SA

Order of calling AV and SA

Hi.

It appears as if the anti-virus program is always called
before
SpamAssassin. Is that in fact correct? If so, is there a
means to
change the order (e.g., to call SA first, then only call AV
if the
message is not deemed to be spam)?

Thank you very much.

That's an insecure approach. Since spam detection can't get
instantly
updated to catch everything (as any other intrusion
detection
technique), you could end up with virus passing through.
Virus
detection engines get updated more frequently than spam
rules do. So
the safer way to implement is the default one in Amavis.
