updating SA rules

I'm using SpamAssassin through amavis. I also have some
custom rules
on /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf which gets updates from
time to time.

When I updated them, usually i have to stop/start
amavisd so new
rules get loaded.

is it possible, somehow, to ask amavisd to restart only
spamassassin
code and thus avoid having to stop/start amavisd completely
? I have
tried -HUP but it didnt work ... it kills amavisd instead.

sorry .... i found 'amavisd reload' right after sending
this message.

amavisd reload would be enough for having new SA rules
loaded ?

Yes, the 'amavisd reload' is the right way to restart
amavisd.
There is no shorter method to let it reload its
configuration
or to reload the SpamAssassin config files and rules.
