I believe this question has come up before and I've mostly
avoided
putting together a comprehensive answer, but it's come up
again ... how
do you safely round-trip binary data from AOLserver to
MySQL? Well,
I've gone ahead and wrote up a step-by-step walkthrough and
blogged it:
Storing binary data in MySQL with AOLserver

Short of fixing the ns_db interface (which is something I'd
love to see
happen), this should be a reasonably good approach using
today's
AOLserver.
I'm hoping to do more of these kind of blog entries on
AOLserver in
2006. Any suggestions for what to cover next?
