aolserver 4 not using the all the processors available

Hello,

I noticed that one of our busy production servers
seems to be using only one processor.
The box, is a Dell 2650, Dual Xeon, with
hyperthreading enabled and running debian (Linux
2.6.15-cks2).

Sometimes, the service is very busy (about 100
concurrent connections), but all I see when I run top
is that the nsd process using 1 processor (CPU1) at
100%, which is 25% of all CPUs. Seems that nsd is only
capable to use on processor, and the other(s) are not
used in this specific box.

In contrast, another dual dell blade server (dual
pentium 3 / Linux 2.6.15-cks3), when the site is busy,
the total cpu consumption for the nsd process goes up
to 200%, in total 100% CPUs used.

Both sites are running aolserver 4.0.10 taken from
cvs, branch aolserver_v40_bp from november 2005.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to make aolserver to
use both CPUs in the first box mentioned?

Are both boxes running the exact same application code?

One CPU could be waiting on a object (mutex, semaphore,
condvar, etc.)
that the other CPU is holding.  If you have some form of
"stats
interface" (nstelemetry, or otherwise) ... what does
your lock
contention stats look like?  What percentage of total locks
are nbusy?
