>From 1 January 2006, APNIC will begin processing
requests for four-byte
AS numbers.
APNIC received the following four-byte AS number block from
IANA in
November 2006 and will begin making assignments from this
range after
1 January 2007:
2.0 - 2.1023
AS number syntax in the APNIC Whois Database will be
extended to
accommodate four-byte AS numbers. This affects all whois
database
object types that refer to AS numbers. These changes may
affect any
automated tools you use to interact with the database.
Please note that syntax for two-byte AS numbers will remain
unchanged.
