SoundPlayer not working on server

My website works fine on my development machine; the .wav
file plays
when expected. But when I deployed my site to the production
machine,
the .wav file does not play. There is no error in the iis
log file (it
shows it was served), there is no error in the event log,
the .wav file
plays as expected when a unc is used to listen to it but not
from my
website. Any ideas? Does my server need a sound card?
