Hi,

Since SPARUL is an extension to SPARQL for updating repository contents, it becomes very useful to treat RDF repository a web service.
Jena seems to support SPARUL now.
Are there any plans to work on utilizing a SPARUL end-point similar that of SPARQL?

Thanks.

With regards,
Harshal

Can you point me to evidence for that? Like e.g. a commit
message or
a mailing list announcement?

It was mentioned somewhere that Jena might consider
supporting SPARUL
at some time,
but I will only believe it, when I see the code which
implements it ;)

OpenLink Virtuose might also support it, but I also am not
100 % sure
about that.

There are currently no concrete plans to implement a SPARUL
adapter,
but if a triple store actually will implement it in the
future, then
there are pretty high chances
for a SPARUL adapter.

While SPARQL became a standard in January, SPARUL is actually not standardized yet. The SPARUL specifications were written by the creators of Jena at Hewlett-Packard.

Jena supports SPARUL through ARQ which is used in SDB for example. (SDB is the Jena RDF Store).

yes, Virtuoso does support it: http://www.openlinksw.com/press/virt_501.htm

there is also ARC that supports it to some extend: LOAD and INSERT.
