I had originally suspected that I needed to be in the
"User" account (since
that is where the map was created), however I cannot get the
service to
install under that account (invalid user and/or pass) even
though I am
logged in as an admin, and I provided my user / pass (either
in code, or
during the install process). After flailing awhile, I found
several
different threads that stated that services could not do
this (one even in
the msdn forums ...) and moved on ...
I will research my log in issue and go from there ...

False. There's no reason your service can't be logged in
with credentials
that allow access to the network drive. It's just that
"LocalSystem"
doesn't have such credentials.
