Hi everyone:

Sorry for sounding like such a newbie, but, well, ... ok...
I'm a
newbie to Google Adwords.

So I created a great site and I want to obviously attract
customers to
my new site and start building my brand.

I created a campaign with about 30 keywords (mostly two word
phrases
double quoted) and put in a Max CPC that I thought was
pretty
reasonable (about 8 times the minimum bid on every keyword
so if
minimums were say 0.04, my max was 0.32).

However when I type in some of the phrases to see how my ad
places, it
ends up on PAGE 2 or PAGE 3. WOW, I'm really confused and
dissapointed
cause the traffic estimator is showing my estimated
placement to be
around 2.8 or something like that.

What does Avergage Placement of 2.8 mean anyway? Is that
page 2.8 or
ad number 2.8 (i.e. 3rd on the first page).

Do I have to just bite the bullet and crank up the CPC and
daily
budget?
Should I pick fewer keywords, or more keywords?

Any help is appreciated.

You hit it on the nail. Adwords is great. However, you get
on the first
page (with not just any jumbo mumbo keywords, but KEY
keywords that are
commonly used) you are not going to get that much traffic.
You get
some, but not enough to make a diffrence in my opinion. They
are cheap,
but not effective. But, to get on the first page, your CPC
gonna go up
significantly, bec everyone else is trying to get to that
first
page..gonna go up not just by little ..but by a lot.

So, it is catch 22. You want cheap CPC, you are going to be
on page 2,
5, or 75. You want to be on page 1, your CPC going to
skyrocket.

If you figure a way to be on page 1 with economical CPC,
then you will
be succesful. That is THE KEY to success with Adwords.

So far, being a newbie myself, I have not figured it out yet
