Many years ago, I too, was in a terrible auto accident, which entailed years of convalesence, many surgeries, much drug over-medication, and weaning myself off drugs and doctors, and learning how to be responsible for my own healing and health maintenance was more years. I had been a nurse, but had to learn all over for myself about good nutrition and Sally Fallons' book, Nourishing Traditions, was my bible. From there, I found great benefit for my system from fermented foods and drinks and tonics, like saurkraut, kimchi, yogurt, kefir and kombucha tea, and fermented fruit juices and GingerBeer drinks. I also found that I needed seasonal cleanses, for bowels, liver, gallbladder and kidneys. Since my knees and ankles were shot, I found that doing gentle yoga stretches and breathing helped enormously, as did a sit-down bounce apparatus, that could give me a full workout in 15 minutes without stressing my damaged heart valves. The next level of healing I f ound in energy work, using color, tuning forks, doing accupressure and accupuncture on meridans and doing Reiki work on charkras. But it has all been a long slow process and I will continue to learn and grow in the healing arts till the day I go through transition! Norma
