Library Associates is seeking an IT Manager for our client,
a
prestigious national law firm with a diverse and
sophisticated practice.
The manager will be based in San Francisco and be
responsible for the
firm's San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. We are
looking for someone
with great people skills who can work on a team with non-IT
professionals.
Responsibilities
* Mentor, train, and manage IT professionals;
* Serve as point of contact for west coast (SF &
LA) IT
communication;
* Hardware and software support including:
installation, testing,
evaluation and troubleshooting for computer and network
equipment;
* Provide hardware and software support including:
training,
installation, testing, evaluation and troubleshooting for
the computer
equipment and problem solving assistance;
* Provides day to day technical support and
assistance to firm
personnel;
* Manage and provide oversight for hardware changes
associated
with moves as required;
* Must provide off-hours coverage and emergency
support as
needed;
* May work on firm-wide projects from time to time;
* Document and establish standard operating and
support
procedures;
* Provide budget input to Director of Administration
and IT
Director;
* Assist with establishing priorities and
communicating status of
assigned projects;
* Manage and maintain relationships with vendors,
contractors,
and consultants;
* With assistance from the firm-wide managers,
maintain
technological infrastructure such as data centers, phone
systems, etc.;
* Travel to the Los Angeles office at least once or
twice a
month.
Qualifications
* Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have
the ability
to work with different groups: peers, attorneys, and support
staff;
* Must have an understanding of legal applications,
networks, and
help desks;
* Strong background in project management;
* Significant technical and business experience with
a thorough
working knowledge of applications and hardware;
* A demonstrated high-level of customer service
focus;
* Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring and
motivating
staff;
* BA in business or IT or significant experience in
IT within a
law or professional services environment similar in scope to
that of a
multi-office, national law firm;
* Demonstrated knowledge of
Laptop/Desktop/Windows/Office
2000/XP, troubleshooting, knowledge of current laptop
technologies and
trends;
* Ability to work on projects simultaneously in a
high volume
environment;
* Good written and oral communication skills;
* Strong problem solving skills;
* Must have the ability to work on a flexible
schedule (Saturdays
and Evenings) as required by the business.
* Occasional travel outside of the office in support
of national
scope projects.
