Introduction
Information
and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are continuously transforming traditional
modes of transactions in all spheres. Governments, the world over are aware of
the limitations of existing methods of managing their transactions, and are
struggling hard to deliver effective and economical e-Government services.
According to World Bank estimates, almost 85% of the e-Government systems fail
totally or partially, indicating a loss of highest magnitude. There is thus an
urgent need to address this issue and suggest effective and economical
e-Business service delivery models for the Governments.
Objective
of the Special Issue
Some
of the critical issues, Governments have been facing include obsolete
organization structures, procedures, and processes, uneconomical e-Government
services, inadequacy and incompatibility of ICT infrastructure, and
non-integrated e-Government services. All such issues are leading to a digital
divide among the States, Nations ultimately.
The
objective of special issue is to promote research initiatives in designing an
economical and effective e-Business service delivery model for the Government
and its stakeholders.

SUBMISSION
PROCEDURE
Researchers
and practitioners are invited to submit papers for this special theme issue on
“Strategic e-Business Model for
Government” on or before November 15, 2006. All submissions must be original, should be
between 5,500 and 8,000 words, using rigorous research supported by adequate
reference citations, and may not be under review by another publication. The
papers will be reviewed on a double blind, peer review basis. Authors of
accepted papers will be notified by January 1, 2007 about the acceptance
status and will receive accepted paper organizational guidelines. Papers must
follow APA (American Psychological
Association) editorial style. Manuscripts may not include footnotes, and
authors are strongly encouraged not to use endnotes. References must relate only
to material cited within the manuscript and shall be listed on a separate
"References" page in alphabetical order with full publication data (e.g.,
author's name(s), complete title of the cited work, publisher and location if a
book; if a journal article or book chapter, title of the source, editor(s) name
if appropriate, volume, issue, year of publication, and page numbers). APA
guides are readily available on the web.
