Manager of Information Policy
Our client, a non-profit public policy research foundation
headquartered in Washington, D.C., is currently seeking a
library professional to add to their team in order to help
develop a knowledge management program. This is a great
opportunity for someone with a commitment to learning on the
job and collaborating with a team.
The primary responsibility of the Manager of Data and
Information Policy is to ensure that information resources
at the Institute are meeting the needs of all departments,
including Development/Fundraising, Marketing, Media, Policy
and Government Affairs, among others.
Responsibilities
-- work one-on-one with staff to understand information
needs and find ways to satisfy those needs using internal
and external resources .
-- assist the Technology Steering Committee in implementing
enterprise-wide database tools
-- manage all subscription-based list and research products
(print, CD and online)
-- administer third-party bulk email interface.
-- design and run reports from information sources for the
departments and aid in the analysis of results
-- work closely with the web staff to find ways to display
and disseminate information using the Institute's intranet
-- work with the Director of Web Services to formulate best
practices for information access both inside the Institute
and externally through its public websites and help
establish knowledge management standards, policy and
procedures for the Institute.
Required Skills
-- MS Excel
-- MS Access or good understanding of relational databases
-- Basic HTML
-- Excellent writing and communication skills
-- DIALOG and Lexis/Nexis IR skills
Preferred Skills
-- SQL
-- Understanding of web technologies
MLS degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
