Directory of full-time LIS faculty members at ALA-accredited programs

While working on (LI Meho and KM Spurgin, "Ranking the
Research 
Productivity of LIS Faculty and Schools: An Evaluation of
Data Sources 
and Research Methods," JASIST, 56, 1314-1331), Kristina
and I needed to 
compile a list of all LIS faculty members at ALA-accredited
LIS 
programs. At the time (2003), similar directories were
available in 
print, but none were complete or up-to-date to draw
representative or 
accurate samples.

Recently, I had to update the directory for another project
I am 
currently working on. Knowing that such a directory could be
of use 
to/by doctoral students, faculty members, and
administrators, I thought 
I would share it with all of you hoping that you'll find it
beneficial 
for your research.

The directory is available at 
(http://www.slis.indiana.edu/faculty/meho/LIS-Directory/) and currently 
includes the names, status, affiliations, and (where
available) the 
e-mail and web addresses of all Assistant Professors,
Associate 
Professors, Professors, and Professors Emeritus. The
directory is 
arranged alphabetically by last name and includes lists of
faculty 
members by individual schools (and the source of each list).
If you see 
any names missing or if you see any errors, please let me
know at: 
mehoindiana.edu.

I am hoping that in the future, this directory will include
the 
teaching and research interests of all faculty members and
that it will 
become a searchable directory. I am also hoping that each 
faculty/school will spend a few minutes per year to update
his/her/its 
information. A reminder will be sent on ASIS-L and JESSE
once a 
semester for this purpose.

All information in this directory was taken from the
websites of the 57 
ALA-accredited LIS programs.
