THE PROGRAM:
"Working Information Networks: a Tribute to Henriette
Avram"
Please join us for a retrospective presentation on women's
contributions
to networked information management. Beginning with the
"mother of
MARC", Henriette Avram, we will explore how
collaborative information
management has evolved over the years, and especially how
women have
played important roles in the development process.
* Henreitte Avram was the driving force behind the
development of MARC.
Beacher Wiggins and Sally McCallum will speak about Ms.
Avram's vision
and influence on networked information, and also about some
of the less
broadly known aspects of Ms. Avram.
* Gail Hodge and Nikkia Anderson will present on their
experiences
developing databases and other networked information
solutions for
federal contracts in engineering and the sciences.
* Jennifer Preece will give a brief review of work being
done at CLIS by
her and three women colleagues.
