ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Iris Xie
is an associate professor in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her research interests and expertise focus on information seeking and retrieving, in particular interactive information retrieval between users and IR systems and its implications for the design and evaluation of a variety of IR systems in the digital age. Dr. Xie won the dissertation award from the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) in 1999. She is the principal investigator on many research grants awarded by different agencies, which include the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), ALISE, etc. She has a strong record in publishing refereed articles and presenting at international conferences in the field of library and information science.
