CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: Joint Conference on Digital
Libraries: JCDL 2006
June 11-15, 2006 Chapel Hill, North Carolina

The JCDL conference will take place June 11 - 15, 2006 at
the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This year's theme is
"Opening Information
Horizons." The international event encompasses the
many meanings of the
term "digital libraries," including new forms of
information institutions;
operational information systems with all manner of digital
content; new
means of selecting, collecting, organizing, and distributing
digital
content; digital preservation and archiving; and theoretical
models of
information media, including document genres and electronic
publishing.
The program includes peer-reviewed papers and posters as
well as
demonstrations and two plenary sessions:
"Getting Books Online: Practices and
Strategies." A plenary panel on
Monday, June 12.

On Tuesday, June 13, Jonathan Zittrain of the Berkman Center

Society, Harvard Law School Oxford Internet Institute,
University of Oxford
will present "Open Information: Redaction,
Restriction, and Removal."
