I downloaded a nightly distribution of source from here
http://cvs.apache.org/snapshots/ant/ant_20060108173
757.tar.gz then compiled
successfully and ran a handful of various types of StarTeam
scripts.  All worked
as expected (in fact it was even faster than my 1.6.5 distro
with the same
patches applied).
