The script took me about 4 days total to write up from scratch and is in
full working order with all the features I needed for all the wiki
markup we plan on ever using to publish help. Anytime changes are made
to the content in the wiki, the script takes less than a minute to
generate entirely new, clean htb files using the MediaWiki export tool
(meaning no dependancy on the database, it could be run to grab pages on
any public wiki), export all images, then it's just a matter of copying
over the htb and image files, adding/removing pages from the HelpBlocks
project itself (which could be scripted up at some point, but its rare
that you need to make page changes), and generating the new help from
within HelpBlocks with one click. It's now become a small simple step in
our release cycle and helps out immensly with keeping up-to-date program
documentation on a big program like ours.
Keeping the help content in a MediaWiki installation allows for easier
change tracking, and gives others the ability to write, fix, and clean
up existing help without needing a copy of HelpBlocks or knowing HTML.
The first point wasn't important since we keep almost everything we work
on in SVN repositories anyway, but the second is extremely nice.

Alternate output types could be added into the script with little effort
which was the other reason I coded it up. It doesn't do anything other
than HelpBlocks output right now, but we plan to use it to generate
online docs and other formats like PDF (if PDF from HelpBlocks
monolithic source doesn't quite work out).
Being that this was all coded up on company time, I'd need to clear it
for release, and I can't promise anything, sorry.
