Hi,

Sorry about this.

Perhaps you could do a 'which helpblocks' and
check if you're invoking a script that doesn't
pass the command line on to the actual executable.
Passing -h shows the command-line help on the console for me,
without showing a GUI.

Thanks Julian.  That was exactly the problem.  This is my first time
using helpblocks under gentoo... I think the ebuild script I got off
the helpblocks download page might have created the bad helpblocks
script?  I don't remember creating it myself.

Thank you for the quick response (and thanks for supporting command
line execution!  A big help.
