Hey, its great that you are super-loyal to this product.

What's not so great is that you insult someone who tries to give
detailed reports of its shortcomings so that they can be corrected in
the future.

It's fine to point out shortcomings, but to go on record that because
DB doesn't have the "standard" Windows keyboard accelerators you don't
deem it worth a purchase... That's a little overboard. If you have
tried any other tools (IDE, RAD, etc) for wxWidgets you may find that
they do have those accelerators you value so highly but cannot build a
GUI nearly as complex and/or with as wide a platform base as DB.

Julian is well aware of the shortcomings of DB. More so than any of
us. But, being the sole designer/implementer he must place a value on
these to prioritize their rank re: how important they are to address
immediately.

Frankly, most of us would rather he put his time in on important build
features, more wxWidgets elements, new user functions (like better
debugger integration), and not something as immaterial to GUI building
as keyboard accelerators.

And the poster you dismiss so blithely with

> > [hyper-emotional rant w/insults deleted]

was only voicing the opinion he has a right to express. I believe most
users of DB feel the same way. Your "rant w/insults" comment is a
little like the pot calling the kettle black. What else would you call
you blog?

Criticism is good when it's constructive and with an eye on importance
of the criticism to the overall benefit of the object being examined.
I find your criticisms a bit lacking on both counts. Like your blog,
they seem to just be a platform for finding fault and complaining
under the guise of constructive criticism.

As to our loyalty to DB. It was won at a price. Julian has made every
effort to make DB more usable and pays heed to all user requests,
whether they've paid for DB or not. He will even honor your requests,
as insignificant as they are.

I suggest you become more familiar with the entire field of players
before singling out one player to harangue. There are other products
out there that could benefit from your jaundiced eye far more than DB.
