Whenever someone is ready to test this patch and/or commit
it to the
development trunk, please feel free.

I think it should be obvious that if patches are going to
sit around
untested and uncommitted forever, then folks won't continue
submitting them.

AFAICS, there are approx 200 untested or uncommitted
patches.

Agreed. So it is important to bring such patches back to the
attention of
the developers from time to time like you just did. Thanks
for that.
