in the course of a debugging session i eventually found it
necessary to comment
out all three error handlers in 
src/webapp/lenya/config/sitemap/pipelines.xmap,
because they all hide valuable information and/or produce
erroneous diagnostics.

is it possible to apply this change via an xpatch file
during build if debugging
is enabled? that would be a quick and reasonable solution
that does not require
much effort.
