LenyaMetaDataGenerator validity problem

Hi Devs,
The LenyaMetaDataGenerator getValidity method uses the
document's 
getLastModified() method to create a validity object.  This
is wrong 
though as the getLastModified method checks the last
modified time of 
the document file (not the metadata).  A change to the
metadata (from 
the generator) only shows up if I also edit the document, or
restart lenya.

Is there a better way to check the "overall" last
modified time of a 
document?
