with a direct link.
Meaning that only admins can reach them directly, other
groups has to enter the

Yeah or just a plain link to the inbox (if no message).
However I have a usecase where the inbox is not reachable.
Image you have a user "test" and the group
"forbidden". I allowed this user to
see the index page:
group forbidden visit grant
Now I login and see the page as test and see that I have a
new message, but
clicking on it I get:
"The user 'test' is not authorized to access the page
'/default/authoring/index.html'."

I guess the usecase-policies.xml don't allow the user to
view the inbox. Maybe
you have to add a specific role for this kind of users.
