Sorry maybe a question which is already tackled..

Shouldn't solr-ruby and act_as_solr be a single plugin? It
seems
like duplicated effort.. or am I missing something.. i.e
combine
all the functionality..

Antonio,

Not necessarily. The acts_as_solr plugin is _only_ intended
for use
with Ruby on Rails, as for solr-ruby being a DSL, you can
use it with
pure ruby as well without the dependency of Rails.
