This shouldn't be necessary, did you encounter a case where
this was
needed? There was someone on #maven or #continuum that was
talking about
FileUtils.deleteSomething() didn't properly delete the
directories so
you migh be experiencing the same bug.

Not me directly, but it seems it was the case for an other
person.
Perhaps we need to move the code from clean plugin to
FileUtils.deleteSomething() because it works 
fine and clean plugin will have only one line.
