Can any one please tell me the use of <f:verbatim>

 Please tell me the use of <f:verbatim> 
tag and when can I use this in my form page.If I use this to show the html part 
in it, It is giving a Null pointer Exception .When I remove the verbatim tag 
it's working proper.
