You might be getting this because the schema is 1999 and not
2001

XMLBeans builds from the IMS CP 1.1 xsd fine but it says the
1.0 xsd
isn't an xsd:

IMS_CONTENTv1p0.xsd:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE schema SYSTEM "XML-Schema.dtd" >
<!--Generated by XML
Authority. Conforms to w3c http://www.w3.org/TR/
xmlschema-1/--> <schema
targetNamespace="CONTENT01P.xsd"
     xmlns="http://www.w3.
org/1999/XMLSchema"
xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/DC/documents/rec-dces-19990702.htm"

attributeFormDefault="unqualified"
     elementFormDefault="unqualified"
blockDefault="" finalDefault="">
...

is there anything that XMBeans won't like in a schema?

thanks,

Alistair

thanks for that - why would 2001 be special? or is there
something
special about 1999?

thanks,

Alistair
