Response.Redirect to FTP page

I want to use Response.redirect to send users to an ftp page. The code
I have in place works OK except that the page that opens has a "Up to
Higher Level Directory" text link that must then be clicked before
navigating the FTP directories.

If I just put the server.com">ftp://user:pwserver.com link directly in my
browser's address bar it goes to exactly where I want. If I do
response.redirect("server.com">ftp://user:pwserver.com") it takes me to slightly
different page which has that "Up to higher level directory" text link
on it that I have to click on before navigating the ftp directories
will work correctly.

Any idea why it works one way if typed directly into my address bar and
another way through response.redirect?
