The IAX encryption scheme is documented in the draft RFC
(see
http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/intern
et-drafts/draft-guy-iax-03.txt)
It should be possible to implement it based on that.
If it isn't, let me know - as I contributed the text and
diagram 
I wouldn't try 'porting' from asterisk as chan_iax has a
_lot_ of other
stuff going on, which makes the crypto harder to fish out.

as far as I've understood at the moment Iax encryption is
well supported
on asterisk but there are no clients of any kind supporting
it.
Therefore it can only be used to provide inter-asterisk

communication.
I'm not aware of any portable library which supports iax

So I would like to understand what would it take to build
such a library
in order to get iax encryption on soft clients on various
platforms.
Maybe it's possible to do this with some kind of porting
from asterisk
source code into iaxclient library
