zaptel: kmod_load and kmod_unload as tweakable knobs in rc.conf?

I've got a wishlist item for the zaptel port - wouldn't it
be nice to have
kmod_load and kmod_unload lists of loadable modules be
tweakable knobs
within rc.conf? This way, users don't have to load every
zaptel driver
under the sun - just the ones they actually need.

look at /usr/local/etc/rc.d/zaptel

you can rn the un needed drivers there.

I know that... but it would be nice not to have to do that
every time
zaptel gets upgraded and overwrites my
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/zaptel

it should not touch that file if you use portupgrade .

I do, and it does... am I missing something?

I really don't like touching the rc scripts - I always
assume they are
volatile on portupgrade and that knobs to control their
behaviour should
be set within /etc/rc.conf.

no they should not and no it should not overwrite the
existing rc.d scripts if
it is then your portupgrade is f*cked. mine never updates my
rc.d scripts
and they have worked fine for then last few weeks I have
been testing 1.4.X
