have you looked at the freebsd patches and tried them ?

asterisk +libpri+zaptel work on freebsd fine.

Actually, I just got 1.2.24 to build on NetBSD/macppc!
Albeit with
lots of warning about pthreads. Yikes!

But it runs now...
