Position 1:
Job Responsibilities:
This work will be performed in a large complex environment and will need to be automated as much as possible.
Education:
· Should have a BS in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Skill Requirements:
· Must have expert understanding of configuring at least one of the following and a good understanding of the rest:
o Redhat Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, HPUX, Irix
· Must have experience configuring most of the following services:
o Web: Apache, PHP, webtrends, tomcat
o Mail: Sendmail, Qmail, Dmail, Pop/Imap
o General: MySQL, Bind, Iptables, RPMs
· Must have ability to write scripts to automate tasks
o Bash, Perl, Sed/Awk, PHP.
· Must have excellent reasoning skills, including having the ability to come up with multiple solutions to the same problem and discuss the cost/benefit of each solution.
· Must be able to take on a big project, break it up and get it done.
· Must be able to work with others when necessary.
· Must be able to communicate clearly.
· Must be willing to work occasional off hours when situations arise (this is an exception not the norm).
Position 2:
The operation System Engineer independently performs complex system management/administration tasks including system configuration changes, system integration, software installations/updates, storage system changes, troubleshooting of complex problems. The Operation System Engineer must be able to work both independently and in a team environment, supervise other team members or other system administrators and act as a resource to Operation team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· New system installation and modification to existing system configuration independently.
· Install/update system security related patches.
· Design skills in systems environments with the ability to implement large projects such as Intermail system, security structure, and monitoring and management environments.
· Conduct project system design review/development and implementation.
· Develop automation and process using UNIX Shell and perl script.
· Analyze, coordinate and/or assists with resolution of customer impacted system/servers problem
· Monitor daily operation of server environment.
· Establish hardware and software standards: evaluation, selection and certification.
· Studies vendor products and makes recommendations to management based on the needs of the company and the ability to integrate with existing systems.
· Participates in production implementation planning, including scheduling and development of associated implementation processes.
· Requires individual to carry a pager or a cell phone to support 24x7 critical environment.
· May be expected to work non-business hours to resolve critical systems.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
· Extensive working experience on system integration, development and implementation.
· Experience in systems integration and development, security standards and protocols is highly desirable.
· Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, in both technical and business contexts.
· Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities.
· Must have the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
· Strong written and verbal communication.
· Must have solid administrative knowledge of the Unix servers environment including Redhat, FreeBSD, Sun.
· Extensive knowledge with scripting: shell, perl, php.
· Strong working experience of internet related applications: apache, sendmail, qmail, Mysql.
· Experience with various hardware including IBM, HP is desirable.
