Thread: Mute All/Unmute All Patch

Mute All/Unmute All Patch

A patch has been created for one of the release requests.
The patch
add a keyboard shortcut to mute all tracks as well as unmute
all tracks.

Mute All: Ctrl+Shift+M
UnMute All: Ctrl+Shift+U

Mix And Render to New Track was changed to : Ctrl+Shift+R

I'm not a fan of changing keyboard shortcuts, however, the
new
combinations seem to be rather obvious.

The patch was submitted to the sourceforge patch tracker
(patch
1905174). It was submitted about a month ago, however, I'm
not sure if
anyone looks at those patches.

I've tried this out and it seems fine. Since it is on the
Release
Checklist, I've committed it for further comment:

* Should the new menu items appear under 'View' or 'Track'?
I thought
the latter (since it's a 'track' thing, not a 'view' thing)
so I moved
it there.
* There are now 2 items in the menu with 'M' underlined,
does that
matter or should we change it? To what?
* The keyboard shortcut change may not be popular with
people used to
the old way; any comments from anybody?

Thanks, Martyn.

I'd vote for "Tracks".

We could change the Mix and Render underline to
"i" or "x"
(same principle as underlining "o" of
"Sort").

If "x" was chosen for the "Mix and
Render" underline, CTRL + SHIFT + X
is available as its shortcut. Or the "Mute All" or
"Unmute All" shortcuts
could be CTRL + ALT + M and CTRL + ALT + U respectively,
letting us
retain CTRL + SHIFT + M for Mix and Render.
