Hi Federico

Just tried a test record of a WAV file playing on the
machine, using
the "Sum" input of the USB sound card. I assume
the recording is
actually only made to some temp file (?) but I heard the
recording
played back and got the following output:

C:Program
Filespa_snapshot_v19portaudiobindingscppbin>patest_r
ecord.exe
patest_record.c

Now recording!!
index = 43008
index = 86016
index = 131072
index = 174080
index = 219136
index = 220500
sample max amplitude = 0.01229858
sample average = 0.006956
Begin playback.
Waiting for playback to finish.
Done.

So, it's still an Audacity problem that it can only
"see" USB devices
properly when they are selected as Microsoft SoundMapper?
What
worries me as much is what happens on other OSes where (I
presume)
you have to choose the device explicitly?

Thanks

Gale
