| Subject: [Audacity-help] HELP!
| Mrs. Andrews
It's Mr Andrews actually
| I find your customer service skills to be pretty bad.
Your last
| e-mail was pretty rude and uncalled for.
It was not meant to be rude and of course I am sorry if it
was
taken that way, but I stand by all of it. You did not read
the
instructions that were given to you, otherwise you would not
have
written back, and you then wrote to us with exclamation
marks
(which is hardly polite) because you were in a hurry for a
class
(i.e. you were panicking). I was trying to be helpful (even
if I could
have wrapped it up more delicately) because it's natural to
panic and
get frustrated when you are in a hurry and software won't do
what
you want it to (I have done it many times myself), and in
those cases
the best advice is always to calm down and look at the
information
you have in front of you (e.g. support documents) carefully.
There just is no simpler way to have Audacity locate
lame_enc. dll
and no simpler way to describe the process but as you were
still
struggling with it I suggested another option with
SuperPlayer.
You can edit the Windows Registry to give the path to
lame_enc.dll in
Audacity but that is very risky unless you know what you are
doing.
| I would like the e-mail address of your superior., so
I can tell
| him/her how well you handle your customers.
There are no "superiors" here, we are all
volunteers working long
hours for Audacity for nothing. The software is free. A
commercial
technical support department would have disregarded your
second
email as the question had already been covered.
I hope you have now been able to export MP3s from Audacity
and trust you now understand our position.
