| Subject: [Audacity-help] Help Audacity Software
Installation
| We received an Audacity ION USB turntable in 12/2006.
| The intial installation in the first computer went OK,
after a few glitches.
| However, I have not been able to load the software and
use the
| turntable on an alternative computer - an HP pavilion
540n with
| Windows XP. First the screens are not quite the same
as those in the
| manual. From the windows, it is not obvous what my
computer
| soundcard is. I have a choce of two. I have tried both
neither one.
| Then when I attempt to change the recording setting to
"USB Audio
| CODEC", it does not appear to hold the setting.
That is the setting
| will have changed when I come back to it.
Please read this page thoroughly for instructions on how to
set up Audacity
with the turntable and for other troubleshooting hints:

tables
If the USB Audio Codec device comes and goes it suggests a
loose or
defective USB cable, which problem is reported to us several
times a week by
users of Ion turntables. Try tightening the cable or using
a fresh one not
supplied by Ion.
