Yes, if you're looking at the hundreds of little
".au" files, you're in the
wrong place. Those little ".au" files are
internal to Audacity and are
basically meaningless and useless if accessed directly by
the user.
When Audacity makes a recording, it records to its internal
format to
expedite editing and multi-tracking. However, until you
explicitly EXPORT
the completed project to some known file format, as David
mentioned, you
won't have anything you can use as a song track.
