Oops--
forgot to mention: I did a check for permissions on files,
and they
were off, but I changed permissions to allow me to read and
write all
files in enclosed folders.
The flatline persisted. So permissions wasn't the issue.
Sorry I didn't include this with initial question. But there
it is.
