Thanks man, but I am already exporting the MP3 at the highest quality.. I was hoping there was a way to export a higher quality file that I can get into iTUNES.. I tried exporting (from audacity) the aif file, but I couldnt get it into iTUNES..
However, since then I realized that the 320 MP3 might be good enough for my purpose.. Is the MP3 number (320) comparable to the bit rate that iTUNES shows? I can definitely hear the difference (on my stereo) on CD's imported at 128, and imported at 1411..

I have MAC 10.4.10.. (Not Intel),, I "think" I am running aud 1.2.6.. A user for about a month..
Currently I import CD's into iTUNES at bit rate 1411.. The problem is that after I save an MP3 from audacity, then import the MP3, it is only 320 quality..
I tried saving an AIF (or is it AIFF) file from audacity, but I was never able to get the AIF into iTUNES.. Im looking for any suggestions on getting a higher quality into ITUNES..
SIDE QUESTION: If I make changes to the .aud file in audacity, then save again as MP3, can I assume this regenerates the MP3 file again with no loss?
Also, while editing, if I copy a waveform from an aud waveform section, can I assume it will be aud quality and not MP3 quality (and the same for MP3 sections of waveform).. OR AM I CONFUSED: (maybe audacity finds an aud file even in the trash, and pulls up audacity aud file, even though I double clicked the MP3)?
bobbler yo, look on your audacity toolbar under edit, click preferences and file formats. there on the bottom you can choose your bitrate for exporting mp3's. usually a bitrate of 192 is high enough quality at a good compression ratio, but if ya want a noticeable (barely ) improvement, try 256. just click the little box that says bitrate: this is for audacity 1.2.6 only. next...when editing, if the audacity program is set to default, whatever you copy when editing is 32 point wav file, or at DOUBLE the fidelity of cd. mp3 is a compression method only and has nothing to do with recording with audacity (unless you import mp3's, that is)....your audio is going to be much higher fidelity than mp3. it can;t be copied and pasted into other programs, however. the rest of the question? beats the F*** outta me, man.... ;) pinkster "Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. Amplifying / de amplifying with AUD..
Something weird happened to me.. And I need/hope to fix it
by Sat AM
(for the dance)..
I edited a bunch of little 40 second songs for breaks.. I
wanted
the volume to be less than the regular program, so I
highlighted
the .aud waveform and clicked effects/amplify.. And I
typed in -10
(hoping it would go down 10 decibels).. The waveform did
indeed go
down..
I deleted all existing MP3's and deleted the occurance in
iTUNES as
well. Then I exported new MP3 and imported each one into
iTUNES..
Really weird.. When I burned the CD, the volume was way up
on each
one (on the CD).. I just pulled up an aud file, and the
waveform is
still small..
Is this something with AUD? Or do you think its iTUNES
(maybe taking
soemthing from the trash)..
