Howdy

I have a sip phone that connects to pots through an incoming pstn line
and a tdm card.

There seems to be some echo on the calls that go through the pstn.
I have fiddled with rxgain and txgain in zapata.conf , but it is difficult
to see changes in their affect.

The only assurance I have that I am effecting anything, is that if I
turn the gain down to -6.3, then the audio disappears.

Running ztmonitor, the rx signal looked good, but the tx channel
would peg the meter. However, contrary to this, the best results
I got were when I set the txgain to 7 and left the rxgain at 0.

Any tips from experts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If it's a Digium card, don't be afraid to call them.
They're happy to
answer the phone and help you, and their support is very
good.

Echo problems can be a real pain to solve. If you bought
Digium hardware,
I'd call them up and ask them to help you. You should get
free support
from them.
