Hi,

Is anyone using IBObjects with BDS2006?

I am considering purchase and would be interested to know
how others
feel about IBObjects compared to the standard components
supplied with
Delphi.and other products.

I am interested in
any success/failure usages of the product.
    response to questions
    usability with Firebird

regards and thanks

Colin

I've been living a breathing IBO with FB for some years
now. I tested most
of the component sets before committing. IBO's dataset
buffering and
incremental search is outstanding (uses SQL, not client side
filtering) and
is really what sold me in the first instance.
There is a dedicated list for support.
I don't use BDS2006 though - can't comment there.
Alan

Hi Colin

Not with BDS2006 yet - D7
In my opinion ( and probably many others ) compared to the
Borland
offerings, IBO is much, much faster.

The Borland components may not be FB compatible in future -
no
guarantees, particularly with FB2 soon to be released -
watch DevCo?

If you choose to use them, the IBO IDE Design time
interfaces are easy
to use.

No comment on the data aware editing/display components as I
don't use them.

Response to emailed problems/question has always been
prompt.
As well as the dedicated IBO list, there are many others...

IBO will work with both Interbase and Firebird.

cheers
Paul
