Yes, I understood all of these facts.  But how do I get it? 
Do I use svn to get the latest jhalfs or what?

   yes.. and update often as the code changes daily..
   # SVN="svn://svn.linuxfromscratch.org"
   #  svn co $SVN/ALFS/jhalfs/trunk jhalfs

Yes, to use trunk code (almost stable):

svn export svn://svn.linuxfromscratch.org/ALFS/jhalfs/trunk
jhalfs

If you want to play with the experimental code:

svn export
svn://svn.linuxfromscratch.org/ALFS/jhalfs/branches/experime
ntal \  
      jhalfs-X
