Manuel,
What is your opinion on changing the display of the help
file.
from: "usage | more && exit"
to: "usage | less && exit"

'less' has scroll capabilities and 'more' does not.

less isn't installed in /tools for LFS. Then, if you tried
to see the
usage in the chroot before less is installed, you'd get
nothing.

That happens on my system when using less:

ESC[1mESC[37m===========================ESC[0m
ESC[1m
 Usage: ./clfs ESC[1m[OPTION]

Options:
ESC[1m -h, --helpESC[0m
        print this help, then exit

Plus, when you quit from less the help is removed from the
screen, but with
more no, then you can use Shift+RePag to review the help
and to copy&paste
the options/values in the command line.

very odd, it is not interpreting the ANSI escape codes.

This is a valid comment, agreed.. more not less is
better..(as with
most things, except taxes and jail time)

This is surely a dead point now, but you need the -R
parameter for
less to attempt to interpret escape sequences. man-db (and
man) use
less -isR the way LFS has them set up. I just realized this
myself.

ohh.. you are good. Your comment forced me to look at my
setup
(non-LFS).. In my env I have defined, LESS=-R, so that is
why it worked
for me and not Manuel. Live and learn.
     tnx
